Kazakh Ambassador to China: 'Kazakhstan-2050' Strategy and 'Chinese Dream' for benefit of two states
BEIJING. June 19. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy, which can be roughly considered as" Kazakhstan's dream"and China's plans to achieve the "Chinese Dream" do complement each other and are for the benefit of the peoples of two countries, the region and world peace. This has been stated today by Nurlan Ermekbayev, Kazakh Ambassador to China, in Beijing during a round table devoted to Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy and the Kazakh-Chinese relations.
N.Ermekbaev described the current status of Kazakhstan's development mentioning that under the leadership of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Kazakh National Leader, it has become an authoritative and responsible member of the world's community and has been making a worthy contribution to solving regional and global problems.
"Our country has become a recognized leader in the field of non-proliferation of nuclear disarmament, active supporter and coordinator of the dialogue of cultures, religions and civilizations. Steadily increasing activity of Kazakhstan in the international arena is evidenced by its successful chairmanship of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and Organization of Islamic Cooperation. In 2012 Kazakhstan was elected as a member of the UN Human Rights Council and has received the right to host the Astana International Expo - 2017 themed "Energy of the future", said the Ambassador.
"At the dawn of independence there were doubts whether Kazakhstan would stay as an independent state. But over 22 years of independence we have seen a steady Kazakhstan which goes towards creation of innovative economy and raising a well-being of the people. Within recent years economy has increased by more than 2.5 times and GDP exceeded USD186 billion", N.Ermekbayev.
The Ambassador informed the participants of the round table that nowadays Kazakhstan is involved in the integration within the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space and it is on the verge of joining the World Trade Organization.
"A stable political situation in Kazakhstan is supported by success of economic development. According to the World Bank, Kazakhstan is one of the leading countries in attracting foreign investment. 70% of total direct investment attracted to Central Asia is assigned to Kazakhstan and accounting approximately USD 150 billion. By the end of 2012 in the background of the world economy recession Kazakhstan's GDP grew by 5%. Foreign trade turnover increased by almost 12% reaching USD115 billion. International foreign exchange reserves amounted to more than USD 87 billion.
Our country is successfully implementing the program of industrial-innovative development.
Today, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan poses new targets of sequential state progress on the basis of "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy. The main objective of the Program is Kazakhstan's entry into the 30 most developed countries of the world.
Kazakhstan sets new goals and believes to achieve them. The key to the future is changing our experience and successful reforms gained during the years of independence which will provide a reliable basis for sustained development ", concluded the Ambassador.
