Kazakh Ambassador presents credentials to Austrian President

ASTANA. January 13. KAZINFORM – Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Austria Yerzhan Kazykhanov presented credentials to Federal President of Austria Heinz Fischer; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA?s press service.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan congratulated H. Fischer on the election of the Republic of Austria a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2009-2010. On behalf of Kazakh President he passed the invitation to make official visit to our country in 2009. The President of Austria expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral cooperation which can be testified by the significant extension of trade-economic relations, opening of the first Austrian embassy in the Central Asia with its residence in Astana city and increased number of regular flights between the two countries. In addition, the Austrian side expressed intention to support further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of energy and transport. They also expressed interest in participation in introduction of advanced technologies and innovative projects in Kazakhstan. During the meeting the parties also touched upon the issues of investments into the industrial production, agriculture, construction, textile industry, healthcare service, tourism and other fields. In addition, the parties discussed the issues of political, economic and inter-parliamentary cooperation. At the end of the meeting the President of Austria confirmed his intension to visit Kazakhstan. Time of his visit will be fixed later.
