Kazakh ambassador meets Uruguayan foreign minister
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakh ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil with concurrent accreditation to Argentine and Chile Bakytzhan Ordabayev has met with Foreign Minister of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay Luis Almagro Lemes, the Kazakh MFA's press service reports.
The sides discussed the development of bilateral relations in the sphere of politics, economy and culture as well as interaction within the framework of international organizations. Ambassador Ordabayev told about Kazakhstan's initiatives in the sphere of nuclear disarmament and President Nazarbayev's speech at the 3rd Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague in March 2014. Minister Almagro lauded Kazakhstan's actions in that sphere and stressed that Uruguay is a nuclear free state and always supports nuclear disarmament initiatives. The Kazakhstani diplomat thanked the Uruguayan side for its support of Kazakhstan's candidacy for the temporary seat on the UN Security Council in 2017-2018 and handed a letter from Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan Mr. Erlan Idrissov.
