Kazakh Ambassador held top level meetings in Slovenia

ASTANA. January 21. KAZINFORM. Kazakh Ambassador to Slovenia Rashid Ibrayev held meetings with Slovenian President Danilo Turk, Prime Minister Borut Pahor and Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Žbogar in Ljubljana; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA's press service.

Within the meeting with President Turk the parties discussed urgent issues of Kazakh-Slovenian cooperation, emphasized mutual interest in development and strengthening of bilateral relations and noted the necessity to realize agreements reached during the Slovenian President's visit to Astana in November last year.

The Kazakh diplomat stressed that "Kazakhstan considers Slovenia as an important partner in the European Union." In this context he expressed confidence that the results of the top level negotiations in Astana and the business forum would create solid background for the development of bilateral partnership.

D. Turk noted the success of his visit to Astana and thanked the Kazakh side for the reception. He wished success and prosperity to the Kazakh nation and its leader Nursultan Nazarbayev.

During the talks with Prime Minister Borut Pahor it was noted the necessity to hold a sitting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation in 2010.

Slovenia's Foreign Minister S. Žbogar expressed support of Kazakhstan's initiative on holding the OSCE Summit in Astana. He conveyed his best wishes to his Kazakh counterpart K. Saudabayev for success at the post of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
