Kazakh Ambassador, AWEX Director General discussed prospects for coop

ASTANA. June 3. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ Kazakh Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Belgium Yerik Utembayev met with Director General of Walloon Export and Foreign Investment Agency (AWEX) Philippe Suinen in order to extend trade-economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Belgium.
The Kazakh Ambassador informed the AWEX head on economic situation in the country, paying special attention to the measures, taken by the Kazakh Government on the post-crisis development of the country.
Y.Utembayev noted that the current potential of the Kazakh-Belgian economic cooperation is not fully used. He stressed the perspective interaction in the development of non-oil and gas productions with increased added value, application of high tech and know-how and modernization of the infrastructure. ?At the modern development stage Kazakhstan needs advance foreign experience and high tech for modernization of the existing and establishment of new productions that will allow to force realization of the industrial-innovative strategy?, the Ambassador said.
The AWEX Director General complimented positive dynamic of development of the bilateral relations. ?We pay special attention to strengthening of cooperation with Kazakhstan. A representation of our Agency was opened last year in Almaty. The main purpose of it is to assist to Belgian companies, working in Kazakhstan and establishing contacts with the state?, FP.Suinen said.
In order to activate cooperation the Kazakh diplomat proposed to prepare for consideration a list of mutually beneficial projects that could be realized by joint forces and with participation of the European Investment Bank and the EBRD.
