Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Vahagn Khachaturyan attend Armenian Culture Days opening in Astana
Presidents of Kazakhstan and Armenia – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vahagn Khachaturyan – attended a festive concert on the occasion of the Armenian Culture Days opening in Astana. The event was held at the Kalibek Kuanyshbayev Kazakh National Music and Drama Theatre, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Akorda press service.
Prior to the beginning, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vahagn Khachaturyan surveyed a photo exhibition dedicated to the 100th jubilee of Sergey Parajanov, an outstanding Armenian film director and artist.
The concert featured compositions by world-famous Armenian composers Komitas, Charles Aznavour, Georges Garvarentz and Arno Babajanian performed by the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia and masters of art Inga Arshakyan and Gor Sujyan.
From October 15 to 16, Astana will also host the Days of Armenian Cinema.
The Armenian Culture Days in Kazakhstan will end with Lyu-Boff play to be staged by Sos Sargsyan Hamazgayin State Theater created based on the works of Daniil Kharms.
