Kassym-Jomart Tokayev starts official visit to Turkmenistan
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived on an official visit to Turkmenistan, reports Kazinform agency citing the Akorda press service.
President Tokayev was greeted by the national leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, at the Ashgabat airport.
During the visit, negotiations will take place between the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The Head of State will also unveil a monument to Abai in Ashgabat and participate in the International Forum “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of Peace and Development.”
Earlier it was reported that the Head of State met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Woo Won-shik’s first visit as Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea to Kazakhstan is a vivid testament to the special relations between the two countries.
