Kassym-Jomart Tokayev hands over awards to law-enforcement officers

The President of Kazakhstan handed over awards to the law-enforcement structures officers – prizewinners of the UAE SWAT Challenge held in Dubai, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.

12 teams from Kazakhstan participated in the competition this year. Teams of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Sunqar and Tomiris – bagged silver medal at the event. The National Security Committee’s team Arystan finished fourth. The teams of the State Guard Service and the Ministry of Defense also showed good results.

The Head of State congratulated the winners highlighting that their success is a result of hard training and preparation.

“With dignity our fighters represented the country at the international stage, having demonstrated the strength of Kazakhstani warriors to the entire world. We are proud of you. Such victories inspire the whole nation, especially youth,” the President said.

He stressed that the traditions of courage and bravery have been deeply rooted in the history of the Kazakh people.

“This year we mark the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, as a tribute to all Kazakhstanis who fought selflessly in the front and worked in the rear, defending the ideals of freedom and justice. Our duty is to preserve unparalleled feats of our ancestors in the memory of generations. Today, as the descendants of the nation famous for its military traditions, you are deeply aware of your sacred duty and faithfully serve your Motherland. All your efforts are aimed at preserving peaceful life in our country. One can confidently name you the guardians of Law and Order. Law and Order are the basis of a fair and safe state,” the President stated.
