Kashagan oil field produced gas to be for domestic market - KazTransGas
ASTANA. August 19. KAZINFORM - More than half of the gas produced in the Kashagan oil field in the future will be directed to the domestic market, the general director of "KazTransGas" JSC Serik Sultangali said.
"In the future we will have more resources for domestic gas supply in our country. The remaining amount will be sold by the export program, which is determined by thegovernment. The percentage of 70% of the gas previously will be sold to the population of Kazakhstan, 30% or 20%, as required, will be exported. The money needed for development of the company, " said S.Sultangali in Astana at the signing ceremony of the agreement, the purchase and sale of gas produced in the Kashagan oil field, between the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the contracting companies on the Production Sharing Agreement for the North-Caspian project (PSA UK) .
NOTE: According to the terms of the contract "KazTransGas" will purchase all the Kashagan gas produced in the first stage and until the expiry of the PSA UK, that is, until 2042. The planned annual volume of deliveries Kashagan gas is from 2.5 to 3 billion cubic meters.
"The contract endorsed is a long term and mutually beneficial for all parties involved," concluded S.Sultangali.
