Karaganda region chosen as pilot area for testing business support mechanisms under Productivity-2020 program
KARAGANDA. April 23. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ A working group consisting of the experts of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, Development Bank of Kazakhstan and other development institutions arrived in Karaganda region yesterday.
The working group visited several industrial enterprises in the region implementing investment projects.
"Karaganda region has become a pilot base for testing business support mechanisms under the Productivity-2020 state program. Here we are monitoring the existing productions and studying the projects which are under implementation now and the new ones which are being developed", Vice Chairman of the Industry Committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies Daulet Bakbergen said.
The goal of the visit is to ensure close interaction of the state bodies and development institutions with business community, he added.
"Karaganda region is the region where the major projects of the processing sector are concentrated. We would like to define new promising projects needing financial support", Advisor to the Chairman of Board of the Kazakhstan Development Bank Yerden Kunanbayev noted. "If the entrepreneurs have good ideas and initiatives, the Government is ready to offer more than 100 business support measures to them", he stressed.
The program provides for such measures as partial financing of development and expertise of modernization of the investment projects; long-term lease financing; innovative grants; attraction of highly-skilled foreign experts; implementation of up-to-date management and production technologies etc.
Today the working group will visit several enterprises in the region. After then a conference in the regional akimat will be held.
