Kairat Tuntekov 4th at New Wave 2010
ALMATY. August 2. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ Kazakhstani Kairat Tumtekov did not make the first three at the New Wave 2010 in Jurmala.
With 281 points Kairat is ranked fourth, the Russian mass media informs.
The winner of the competition is Armenian singer Sona Shangeldyan.
She had 288 points. Ukrainian singer Tatyanu Shirko trailed only a point considered the favorite of the competition. The third place took Uku Seviste from Estonia. The winner promised that half of the prize money EURO 50 thousand she would donate to the organization that protected homeless pets.
17 participants form 12 countries participated in the competition this year. New Wave is organized by Igor Krutoy and Raimond Pauls and was held the ninth time in its history.
Last year's winners were Indonesian Sandy Sondor and Ukrainian Jamal who had the same amount of points 358.
