K.Tokayev took part in 3rd Conference of Speakers of Parliament
ASTANA. July 19. KAZINFORM The Third Conference of Speakers of Parliament has been opened in the IN Office in Geneva today. A Kazakh delegation headed by Chairman of the Senate Kassym-Jomart Tokayev takes part in the Conference, the press service of the House reports.
The participants of the event paid special attention to the report of the Kazakh Speaker delivered within debates on the role of Parliaments in the crisis.
K.Tokayev laid emphasis on the topical issues of regional cooperation, nuclear disarmament, religious tolerance and others. Concerning the Millennium Goals the Speaker noted that Kazakhstan under the leadership of President N.Nazarbayev realized three of them in the field of poverty reduction, provision of nationwide education and gender equality.
The Speaker also informed the participants on the activity of Kazakhstan as the OSCE presiding country including the activity on settlement of the situation in Kyrgyzstan.
Informing the audience on promotion of the Kazakhstan's initiative on holding the OSCE Summit this year K.Tokayev expressed gratitude to parliamentarians of all states for support of Kazakhstan's presidency and its priorities including the conduction of the Summit.
