K.Saudabayev, H.Clinton talked over phone
ASTANA. June 30. KAZINFORM OSCE Chairman-in-office, Kazakh State Secretary - Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev held telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on June 29, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.
Concerning the referendum in Kyrgyzstan held on June 27 the sides stated that the plebiscite was held without serious violations in a calm atmosphere.
The interlocutors emphasized the necessity of early restoration of confidence and tolerance. In this regard, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaek plans to visit Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan soon.
The parties agreed to coordinate further efforts on Kyrgyzstan support as well.
The sides discussed the issues of preparation and holding of the informal meeting of the OSCE Foreign Ministers in Almaty on July 16-17, the agenda of which included the issue of preparation of the OSCE Summit.
The USA State Secretary expressed gratitude and support to the efforts of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship on restoration of peace and security in the neighboring country and Central Asia.
