Judge of Kazakh Supreme Court meets with reps of Netherlands and Helsinki Committee
ASTANA. July 24. KAZINFORM Judge of Supreme Court of Kazakhstan Zholymbet Baishev has met with Project Manager of the Netherlands and Helsinki Committee Kamala Laghate, Editor-in-Chief of "Security and Human Rights" Journal Ari Blud and Director of Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights Yevgeny Zhovtis; Kazinform reports.
The meeting was held within the preparatory activities for the international conference on Kazakhstan's chairmanship in OSCE in 2010.
Zh. Baishev noted that one of the prior objectives of the Kazakhstani Supreme Court is cooperation with international and nongovernment organizations.
He informed of the amendments made to the Main Law connected with reformation of the justice system pointing at progressive advance of Kazakhstan to developed state with effective legal institutions. He also noted aspects of further development of the legal system.
