Jordanian monarch notes good prospects for coop with Kazakhstan

BEIRUT. April 6. KAZINFORM. Jordan and Kazakhstan have good prospects for cooperation, King Abdullah II of Jordan said; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

In his meeting with Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Karim Masimov in Amman on Monday, Abdullah II said Jordan and Kazakhstan "have good prospects for mutually advantageous cooperation in different fields".

In his words, in recent years "considerable progress has been achieved in relations between Amman and Astana due to the permanent dialogue".

Jordan News Agency (PETRA) names energy, agriculture, construction, healthcare and tourism as priority fields where both countries maintain close interaction. Jordan and Kazakhstan created necessary conditions for improving investment activities. They signed 18 agreements on trade and economic cooperation. In the last three years trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 75 million U.S. dollars. In April a trade centre will be opened in Astana to promote Jordan's products on the Kazakhstani market.

Meeting Jordanian Prime Minister Samir Rifai, Masimov said Kazakhstani businessmen "seriously think of making investments in Jordan's economy"; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
