The agreements, made with the Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF), provide a 30% subsidy for solar energy systems under the program designed to support residential sectors across Jordan.

During the signing ceremony, Al-Kharabsheh emphasized that these agreements aim to ease the financial burden of electricity bills for households, as part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to increase reliance on local energy sources.

The program is aligned with the country's Economic Modernization Vision, which aims to promote renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency.

Al-Kharabsheh also noted that the ministry is working on creating new programs to offer greater support to low-income households. The current phase of the initiative aims to install 4,000 solar energy systems and 5,000 solar water heaters by the end of 2024.

He assured that the distribution of subsidies would be equitable across all regions, acknowledging the vital role of charitable associations in the program’s execution. Additionally, he invited any eligible associations to participate in the program.

JREEEF’s Executive Director, Rasmi Hamzeh, highlighted the direct economic benefits of the initiative for citizens. He stressed the importance of associations' commitment to following the guidelines outlined in the program and ensuring proper marketing of the initiative.

Hamzeh clarified that the subsidies are a direct grant from the Ministry of Energy and emphasized the need for transparent communication regarding the program’s support.

As reported earlier, Kazakhstan and Jordan are keen on developing mutual trade.
