Japan’s July foreign arrivals hit record 3.44 million

By country and region, South Korea led with 894,700 visitors, a surge of 31.9%, followed by Taiwan with 763,800 arrivals, up 26.4% and marking a new monthly high, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization.
Meanwhile, arrivals from China plunged 56.1% from a year earlier to 428,200.
Earlier, it was reported that Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Egypt, Brazil and Colombia emerged among the biggest tourism winners since the COVID-19 pandemic.
