Japan snatches gold in women's 5km classic country skiing race

ALMATY. February 3. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ Two Japanese athletes have won the first two places in women's 5km classic country skiing race.
Japan's Ishida Masako captured gold with the result of 16 minutes 10.3 seconds, another sportswoman of Japan Natsumi Madoka who showed the result of 16 minutes 48.6 seconds - silver and Chinese athlete Li Hongxue who was 1 minute 1.8 seconds behind the winner - bronze.
Kazakhstan's Yelena Kolomina and Svetlana Malakhova-Shishkina were the 5th and 6th in the race respectively.
The competitions were held at the ski-biathlon stadium at the Soldiers' gorge near Almaty.
