Japan's Foreign Minister to pay official visit to Kazakhstan
ASTANA. August 6. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Japan's Foreign Minister Katsuo Okada will pay official visit to Kazakhstan soon. Japan Ambassador to Kazakhstan Toshio Tsunozaki made it public at a workshop devoted to the 65th anniversary of the tragedy in Hiroshima and Nagasaki held in Astana.
"Due to existing common problems connected with nuclear weapons and consequences of its testing our countries closely cooperate at the world arena. For instance, Kazakhstan put forward an initiative on announcing August 29 International Day of Nuclear Weapons Renunciation. Japan spoke in co-initiative capacity. The initiative was adopted", T. Tsunozaki said.
He also said that Kazakhstan and Japan signed an agreement on peaceful use of nuclear energy.
T. Tsunozaki informed that the issues of nuclear security, nuclear disarmament would be discussed within the coming visit of the Japanese Foreign Minister to Kazakhstan.
