J-Lo, Kate Middleton voted trendsetters of 2014
NEW YORK. KAZINFORM - Singer Jennifer Lopez and real-life princess Kate Middleton have been voted the top trendsetters of 2014.
Following closely behind them was Beyoncé, who placed third on the list, but surprisingly selfie queen Kim Kardashian was featured last on the top ten list, which was based on a survey conducted on 1,000 American women by online clothing subscription service LeTote.com. Five popstars were included on the list of most popular trendsetters with Gwen Stefani, Rihanna and Katy Perry placing in sixth, seventh and eighth place respectively, Kazinform has learnt from the Arab News. Actress Angelina Jolie was voted fourth, just ahead of First Lady Michelle Obama in fifth, while British designer Victoria Beckham placed joint eighth, alongside ‘Roar' singer Katy Perry. Jessica Alba and Sarah Jessica Parker also shared joint honors in ninth, with Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim, who sparked this year's popular ‘belfie' craze, appropriately bringing up the rear in 10th. The survey also revealed details about how American women view popular trends. Eighty-seven percent of those surveyed said they followed fashion trends, while one in five women admitted to spending up to $500 a month on fashion and accessories. The poll also suggested that, when it comes to being influenced by celebrities, people voted with their feet - with shoes and boots emerging as the items they are most likely to imitate.
