Italy to transit military cargo from Afghanistan via Kazakhstan
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today, the Senate at a plenary session has adopted "Agreement with Italy in transit of military equipment and personnel from Afghanistan through the territory of Kazakhstan in connection with the participation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Italy in an effort to stabilize and rebuild the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan".
According to deputy Defense Minister of Kazakhstan Talgat Mukhtarov, the transit of aircraft will be made on the basis of the permits issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. The air routes which are to be used to transit Italian aircraft have been specified in the annex 2 of the agreement. Operation of aircraft in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out in accordance with the ICAO rules or regulations of Kazakhstan in the field of the use of airspace and flight operations. In addition, the Kazakh side will provide air navigation services.
