Italy on the hunt for fugitive Kazakh oligarch Mukhtar Ablyazov: Kazakh Prosecutor General
ASTANA. June 6. KAZINFORM Fugitive Kazakh oligarch and former banker Mukhtar Ablyazov is wanted by law enforcement agencies of Italy, Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Askhat Daulbayev has confirmed the news.
"At the moment, the law enforcement agencies of Italy are trying to spot the whereabouts of Mukhtar Ablyazov and other individuals hiding in the territory of the country," A. Daulbayev said.
In his words, the fugitives fleeing to and hiding in Europe are officially wanted by the European law enforcement agencies. If those people are located, the authorized agencies will make arrangements for their detention and extradition to Kazakhstan.
"For instance, Alexander Pavlov fleeing from the Kazakh prosecution was detained in Spain the other day," added the Prosecutor General. Pavlov is accused of numerous frauds and attempted acts of terrorism in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
