Italian footballer Marco Materazzi visits Kazakh capital for Metaratings Top Awards
Italian footballer Marco Materazzi, who was notoriously headbutted by French Zinedine Zidane, is visiting Kazakhstan ahead of the Metaratings Top Awards ceremony on March 28 in Astana, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
Upon arrival, 2006 World Cup champion and winner of a number of major honors with Inter Marco Materazzi attended a training camp of FC Astana Youth and visited the Kazakhstan Football Federation’s museum in the House of Football in Astana.
To note, Zinedine Zidane headbutted Marco Materazzi after a verbal exchange during the 2006 FIFA World Cup final held in Berlin, Germany. In extra time, when Italy and France drew at 1:1, Zidane received a red card for his aggressive act and Italy snatched a win in the penalty shootout.
