Iraqi PM received personal invitation from Kazakh President to 7th World Islamic Economic Forum

ASTANA. April 5. KAZINFORM Kazakh Ambassador Bulat Sarsenbayev held a meeting with Prime Minister of Iraq Nuri al-Maliki in Baghdad; Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Embassy.

On behalf of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev the Kazakh diplomat invited Mr. Maliki to take part in the 7th World Islamic Economic Forum planned for June 7-9 in Astana. He also informed the Prime Minister of the 4th Astana Economic Forum and session of OIC Foreign Ministers' Council scheduled for May 3-4 and June 28-30 respectively.

The Iraqi Premier was told about the political and socio-economic situation in Kazakhstan, recently held presidential elections, the main provisions of the Kazakh President's state-of-the-nation address, 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence and coming Kazakhstan's presidency over OIC.

Mr. Nuri al-Maliki conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to President Nazarbayev on the successful conduct of elections, and wished the President and the Kazakh people further progress in strengthening the state, ensuring socio-political stability and economic development.

The issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, transport, agro-industrial and energy spheres were also considered.

The sides expressed confidence that all joint projects would promote mutually beneficial relations between the two states.
