Iran would like to see in Kazakhstan its regional strategic partner: M. Ahmadinejad

ASTANA. February 14. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ Kazakhstan Ambassador to Iran Yerik Utembayev has had a meeting with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran within celebration of the 30th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. The meeting was devoted to discussion of the current bilateral relations and determination of the plans of interaction for the nearest outlook.
As the press service of the Kazakh Embassy informed, the Diplomat extended warm congratulations to the Iranian President and informed of the latest achievements in strengthening multi-dimensional bilateral relations and further ways of their intensification. ?Development of bilateral cooperation meets not only the interests of Kazakhstan and Iran but the whole region?, Y. Utembayev noted. ?Kazakhstan stands for activation of joint efforts directed on further development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, particularly in oil and gas, ore-mining industry, transport and other sectors of economy?, he said.
In turn, M. Ahmadinejad noted that due to centuries-long historical and cultural ties Kazakhstan and Iran could expand bilateral cooperation. Speaking on similarity of the countries? approaches to raising the level of the Kazakh-Iranian political dialogue, the President pointed out necessity of further strengthening relations in the context of interregional coop development. ?Today Kazakhstan is a country with developed economy and financial system and Iran would like to see in it its regional strategic partner?, M. Ahmadinejad highlighted.
