Iran to raise oil storage capacity to 28 m barrels in weeks
TEHRAN. KAZINFORM Iran's capacity for storing oil in Khark Isand, southern Iran, totaled 28 million barrels in the 5th month of Iranian calendar year (started on March 21).
Over 97 percent of the 4 reservoirs each with the capacity of one million barrels have been accomplished in Khark Island and they would be launched late August. In case of their launch, the country's oil storage capacity would rise to 28 million barrels, ISNA reports. All pieces of equipment required for the four reservoirs have been imported to the country. 43 kilometers of cabling, 14.000 metal sheets, 15.000 inch square of welded pipelines, 500.000 cubic meters of excavation, 144.000 square meter of dye, 18.000 cubic meters of concrete and 45 kilometers of welding operations have been accomplished for the four reservoirs so far.
