Iran, Russia to hold joint research service in Caspian

ASTANA. November 27. KAZINFORM The Iranian Water Research Organization and Russian Roshydromet Caspian Research-and-Development Center have signed an agreement to conduct joint research patrol activities in the Caspian Sea, Kazinform refers to Trend News.

Roshydrometr Director Sergey Monakhov held a meeting at the Iranian Water Research Center.

"The countries will launch joint research in the Caspian Sea in August 2010," Monakhov said.

The countries signed an agreement to establish research patrol activities in Astrakhan in May 2009.

"The research patrol work will measure the level of physical and chemical elements in the water and explore the ecological purity of the water," Monahov said, Kazinform cites Trend News. See www.en.trend.az
