Iran, Kazakhstan discuss ways to expand ties

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Iran's Agricultural Minister Mahmoud Hojjati and Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov held a meeting in Astana on Dec. 15.

During the meeting the two sides discussed possible ways to boost bilateral trades, Iranian government's official website reported. Hojatti also invited the Kazakh prime minister to visit Iran. Masimov accepted the invitation, saying he will visit Tehran early next year. The Iranian minister is currently in Astana to attend a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Kazakhstan was the 18th biggest importer of Iranian non-oil goods in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2014, according to the Iran Customs Administration, Kazinform refers to trend.az. Iran exported $209.6 million of non-oil goods to Kazakhstan and imported $83.8 million of non-oil goods from the country.
