IPA CIS adopts documents on Environmental Safety
ST PETERSBURG. December 6. KAZINFORM - CIS Interparliamentary Assembly has adopted several documents in the field of environmental safety during the meeting held in St. Petersburg.
"Parliamentarians discussed the legal issues to ensure the formation of a system of international environmental safety in the Commonwealth, approved the draft intergovernmental agreement on the formation of Joint Information Systems of the CIS member-states for protection from biohazardous and draft convention on the conservation of agro-biodiversity", the press service of the CIS IPA reports.
Members of the IPA CIS have also adopted model laws on environmental safety of road transport, on protection of population and environment from noise, infrasound, ultrasound and vibration impacts of various generating sources and the law on environmental audit.
"For our country the model laws which are developed in the framework of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, are very useful because it is impossible to consider the environmental problems only within a state. This transboundary context and decisions should be made jointly", said the Chairman of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Agrarian policy, Natural Resources and Environment - the representative of the Moldovan Parliament Violeta Ivanova.
"Problems of the relationship between human and nature can be solved only as a whole in connection with the problems of peace, security, economic and social development. Thus, today everyone understands that environmental security should be part of national security", noted Violeta Ivanova.
