Investors interested exceptionally in stability. Stability is Kazakhstan's trump card, view
KARAGANDA. November 23. KAZINFORM "Stability is the best trump card of Kazakhstan, and potential investors are interested, first of all, in this factor," economic commentator of Russia's RBC TV Channel Igor Vittel believes.
The well-know Russian journalist participated in the 3rd international investment forum KaragandaInvest 2012. The economic commentator shared his views what makes our country attractive.
What do you know about Kazakhstan's state-run programs aimed at attracting investments?
I cannot say I have studied them in details. Nevertheless, I have a slight knowledge.
Is there something unique in our programs as compared to the other states of the post-soviet space?
You know, there is only one unique thing is that all those programs are being realized. As compared to Russia, we see there a great number of programs end, unfortunately, with corruption, theft and take no effect. I do not know your corruption-related situation. But Kazakhstan looks, fortunately for you, and, unfortunately for us, more agreeable than Russia is.
Could you say what contributes to attracting investments into Kazakhstan?
Certain stability. The established rules of the game. State support measures. But I think, first of all, investors are concerned, exceptionally, over stability, stability and stability once again.
How would you assess integration processes?
If you mean the Customs Union, I am not a great fan about it. There are still a lot questions. If some countries start joining it, and the mistakes made at the beginning, will be negotiated, may be then we assess it positively.
