International road transport agreement signed between Kazakhstan and Austria
ASTANA. October 22. KAZINFORM Governments of Kazakhstan and Austria signed the agreement on international road transport in Vienna on Monday, the press service of the Kazakh Transport and Communications Ministry said.
Provisions of the document are aimed at regulating the transit cargo transportation between Kazakhstan and Austria through their territory, as well as cargo transportation to (from) the third countries on the basis of the permit.
In order to develop proposals for the further development of road traffic between the two countries, as well as discuss topical issues the agreement provides for the establishment of a joint commission of representatives of the competent authorities of the two countries.
Signing of the agreement will allow to form a legal framework for road transport between Kazakhstan and Austria and further develop Kazakh-Austrian trade and economic cooperation.
Austria is one of the leading trade partners of Kazakhstan. If in 2009 the volume of cargo transportation between Kazakhstan and Austria amounted to three thousand tons, in 2010 - 4.7 thousand tons, in 2011 cargo turnover reached about 8 thousand tons.
