International election observation mission holds press conference in Astana

Head of Observer Mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Elsa Papadimitriou, head of OSCE Mission Miklos Haraszti, head of the mission of observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Joao Soares, OSCE short-term observer mission spokesman Neil Simon attended the press conference, during which they presented a statement of the international observer mission on preliminary results and conclusions of the early parliamentary elections held on 15 January 2012 in Kazakhstan.

A comprehensive final report of the OCSE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, including recommendations and possible improvements, will be released approximately in two months during the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE in Vienna. The delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will submit its report to the Standing Committee in Paris on March 9.
