Internal Affairs Ministers of SCO member states met in Yekaterinburg

MOSCOW. May 19. KAZINFORM /Arnur Rakhymbekov/ Meeting of heads of the law-enforcement agencies of the SCO member states was held Monday in Yekaterinburg. A range of Protocols on the issues of cooperation in struggle against transnational crime was signed upon the results of the meeting.

Kazakh Minister of Internal Affairs Serik Baimaganbetov took part in the meeting. Russian Minister of Internal Affairs Rashid Nurgaliyev said that he appraise the results of the meeting as very constructive. According to him, many of discussed problems have cross-border character. Decisions on cooperation of countries in provision of security from criminal incursions on gas and oil pipelines, struggle against drug traffic, terrorism, extremism and cybercrime, and suppress of legalization of criminal incomes were made. As earlier reported, the summit of Heads of the SCO member states is scheduled on June 14-15, 2009 in Yekaterinburg.
