Int'l Zhautyk Olympiad ends in Almaty

ALMATY. January 17. KAZINFORM Awarding and solemn closing ceremonies of the 10th international Zhautyk Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science have taken place today in Almaty.
59 teams (390 participants) from 17 countries of the world took part in the contest. 35 contestants grabbed gold medals, 7 of them are from Kazakhstan. 63 won silver, 85 swept bronze medals.
Kazakhstan won 50 medals at large.
The Russian team won the Grand Prix in the team event, Kazakhstani school came first, Belarus and Bulgaria shared the second place, while Serbian, Georgian schools and Kazakh-Turkish school ranked the third.
