Inflation in Jan 2010 made 1.4% - Statistics Agency

ASTANA. February 1. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ In January 2010 inflation in Kazakhstan was 1.4%, the press service of the Kazakh Statistics Agency reports.
Last month we observed 1.1% rise in prices for foodstuffs, 0.3-% - for non-products and 2.8% growth of prices for paid services, a press release reads.
Thus, prices for vegetables grew by 2.9%, sugar - 1.9%, milk products and eggs - 7%, coffee, tea and cocoa - 1.6%, butter and fat - 1.2% and beef - by 1.1%.
Prices for petrol lowered by 2%, while diesel fuel rose by 0.3% and coal rose by 0.7%.
As for housing and utilities, the tariffs for cold water rose by 9.7%, electricity -9%, canalization - 5.8%, central heating - 2.6% and hot water - 1.7%.
