Industrialization program - main measure of economy modernization

'There is great importance of the projects realized within the industrial-innovative development program. This program is still the main measure of the economy modernization. All the state bodies have to consider this work as a priority,' President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In order to address the issues of the energy deficit in the southern regions of the country the Government was charged to ensure the beginning of construction of the first module of the Balkhash Thermal Power Plant this year. Besides, a number of new projects on development of infrastructure and industrialization were approved. Construction of railway lines 'Zhezkazgan-Beineu' and 'Arkalyk-Shubarkul', production of mineral fertilizers in Zhambyl region, deep oil processing complex at the Atyrau Oil Refinery and others are among these projects.
On January 27, President of Kazakhstan delivered his annual Address to the Nation 'Socio-economic modernization - main direction of development of Kazakhstan' and defined ten future priorities for development of the country in 2012.
