Indonesia to support Astana's bid to host World Petroleum Congress in 2017

ASTANA. August 21. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan and Indonesia have eyed possible cooperation in the oil and gas industry within the first intergovernmental meeting in Jakarta today, the press service of the Economy and Budget Planning Ministry of Kazakhstan reports.

The Kazakh side informed the Indonesian colleagues of the bid Kazakhstan had submitted to host the World Petroleum Congress in 2017 in Astana.

The Indonesian politicians noted the importance of holding of such event and expressed readiness to hold negotiations with the National Committee of Indonesia to support Astana's bid at the session of the WPC Council in Canada this October, according to Kuandyk Kulmurzin, the Director of the petroleum industry development department of the Kazakh Oil and Gas Ministry.

As reported earlier, Kazakhstani delegation headed by Yerbolat Dossayev, the Economy and Budget Planning Minister of Kazakhstan, is in Jakarta to negotiate the commercial and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Indonesia.
