India’s IndiGo to launch direct flights from Astana to New Delhi

The country’s aviation authorities met with the Indian IndiGo low-cost airline representatives, Kazinform News Agency reports referring to the Transport Ministry.

IndiGo plans to launch a new route from Astana to New Delhi on May 14, 2025. It will fly three times a week by A320/321 aircraft.

Representatives of the Astana airport also attended the meeting.

As earlier reported, Air Astana will launch new flights between Almaty and Mumbai on April 20, 2025.

The flights will be performed by Airbus aircraft three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The first flight will depart from Almaty on April 20 at 04:40 am and arrive in Mumbai at 09:55 am local time. The duration of the flight from Almaty is 4 hours and 50 minutes and 4 hours and 20 minutes backward, the air carrier said in a statement.

The number of flights between Kazakhstan and India will rise up to 24 a week for the spring and summer of 2025.

Currently, the flights are operated from Almaty to New Delhi seven times a week, from Almaty to Goa two times a week, and from Astana to Goa also twice a week.

In addition, Kazakhstan will add a new route to Budapest starting from May 27.
