Indian president to pay official visit to Russia

MOSCOW. August 26. KAZINFORM Indian President Pratibha Patil will make an official visit to Russia from September 2-6 at the invitation of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, the Kremlin said on Wednesday; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
"Talks between Patil and Medvedev are set for September 3," the statement said.
India and Russia have enjoyed close bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of defense, civilian nuclear and space, where the two countries have completed the design of an unmanned lunar orbiter due to be sent to the Moon in 2011-2012.
Russia is due to build an additional four reactors for the Kudankulam nuclear power plant in India under a deal signed in 2008; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
