Indian PM dispels report on Baluchistan dossier with Pakistan

NEW DELHI, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday defended his joint statement with his Pakistani counterpart Yusuf Raza Gilani in Egypt, saying that Islamabad did not hand over any dossier on trouble-torn region of Baluchistan to New Delhi.

However, Singh said that later he would give a detailed reply on all issues pertaining to the talks with Pakistan, the end user agreement with the United States and parlays at the G8 meeting in Italy.

Pakistani media reports said Gilani handed over to Singh a dossier on alleged Indian involvement in the unrest of Pakistan's Baluchistan as well as in the terrorist attacks upon the Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore and a police academy in the eastern Pakistan city last March.

The Indian-Pakistani joint statement had said both the countries would fight terrorism without linking such co-operation to wider peace talks.

But after the joint statement, Singh said India would not start peace talks with Pakistan until the perpetrators of Mumbai terror attacks are brought to justice.

It also said that action on terrorism "should not be linked to the composite dialogue process" -- which includes talks on the disputed territory of Kashmir, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.chinaview.cn for full version.
