Independence Day of Kazakhstan celebrated in the home for elderly people in Astana
ASTANA. December 14. KAZINFORM - Yesterday a festive concert confined to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Astana in the Home for elderly people and invalids. The event was of festive and charity character. About 300 people from this institution were congratulated by metropolitan ethnic and cultural associations.
“This event is held with the participation of all ethnocultural associations of Astana city. First of all, our main purpose is to cheer up inhabitants of this house on a holiday. We always try to pay attention to pensioners on every holiday”, shared the chief specialist of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan secretariat of Astana city Gulnar Taigokova.
Tatars, Azerbaijanis, Armenians, Germans, Ukrainians, Polishes, Uzbeks and Kirghizs have appeared on the stage in the Home for elderly people. The guests showed customs and traditions of their nationalities via beautiful songs and lively dancing.
“Each citizen of Kazakhstan should be in a good mood, get warmth and attention on this holiday. And the elder generation should get more attention on this day, for attention is the only thing they need”, chairlady of the Bulgarian ethnocultural association “Zlata” Olga Andrievskaya shared with astana.kz.
Besides, in the course of the charity campaign residents of the house had a festive dinner (dastarkhan) with a lot of dishes of the national cuisine. There were Uzbek scones, Georgian khachapuri, Turkish sweets, and fruit. According to residents of this institution, the start of the holiday presented a lot of positive emotions.
“We are very glad that this festive concert has been organized for us. We’ve seen beautiful dancing in pretty costumes. Actually we always get enough attention, such events are organized very often for us”, - Omyrbai Zhanguldinov, resident of the Home for elderly people, told astana.kz.
It’s worth noting that today more than 250 elderly people and 119 people with disabilities live in the medical and social institution and they get due attention. Astana city Assembly of People of Kazakhstan has organized such festive dinner for the first time ever. Now it is planned to conduct such events on a traditional basis.
