In Minsk the parties agreed to eliminate barriers in CU mutual trade - Nazarbayev
ASTANA. October 25. KAZINFORM — Following the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Minsk the parties have reached an agreement on the elimination of barriers on mutual trade and ensure free movement of various goods within the CU.
The Head of state once again drew attention to the need of ensuring the Eurasian Economic Union functioning from January 1, 2015.
"There is still a huge amount of work to perform and complete the work out of an alliance agreement by May 2014. The parliaments of our countries should ratify the document. We also agreed on measures to address various constraints that hinder the development of economic relations between our states. The Eurasian Economic Commission will continue its work in this direction", said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
In addition, the President noted that at that time it was agreed to eliminate barriers for mutual trade, in particular, to ensure free movement of various goods within the CU.
Kazakh President stressed the need for careful approach for admitting new members of the integration union, the economy of which should correspond to the level of the CU states' development.
In general, at the final press conference the parties noted the sense of fulfilment. Lukashenko and Putin said that the talks were productive. Also the CU heads welcomed Armenia's desire to join the union.
