In Kazakhstan number of road fatalities grew by more than a half

ASTANA. November 20. KAZINFORM - About the complications of the situation on the roads in recent years has said today at a press conference in the office of the Central Communications Service the First Deputy Interior Minister Marat Demeuov.
"This year has witnessed an increase of traffic accidents by 57 percent, deaths by 4 percent and injuries by 67 percent. The main causes of accidents are speeding, drink driving and leaving the opposite lane", said the deputy minister.
According to him, more than 80 percent of all traffic accidents have taken place due to a fault of drivers. In total this year the traffic police has stopped more than 2.5 million traffic violations and arrested 40 thousand drunk drivers.
