Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies Murat Ospanov told a government session on Tuesday.

In his words, this is mainly due to high equipment wear rate and and the need to modernize and improve quality of services time after time.

Thus, in 2012 investments into the industry made KZT 208.8 billion surpassing the 2011mark by 46%. Investments in 2013 is projected at the level of KZT 230 billion.

"This is achieved by obliging each monopolist to map out and implement investment programs. This mechanism has proved to be effective, since it allows to control every tenge spent on the needs of the industry," Mr. Ospanov elaborated.
