In 2012 Kazakhstan blocked access to 45 foreign religious websites - Religious Affairs Agency Chairman

ASTANA. June 17. KAZINFORM - In 2012 Kazakhstan has blocked access to 45 foreign religious sites, announces the chairman of the Agency for Religious Affairs Kairat Lama Sharif Government Hour in the Majilis.

"Another important issue that is important for the spiritual safety of our society is to monitor the Internet resources of a religious nature in order to limit the information field of religious extremist and terrorist groups," said K.Lama Sharif.

As believed by him, only in 2012, as a result of the analysis of more than 1,900 websites from 45 foreign internet resources, materials containing illegal content, have been taken appropriate judgments on their block in Kazakhstan. In the first quarter of 2013, the agency analyzed the content of 500 websites, of which by 20 foreign websites the materials have been sent to the prosecutor's office.

In addition, as reported by K.Lama Sharif, in popular social networks and video sharing there have been opened official accounts of the Agency, and it is planned to launch an educational online resource called "E-islam".
