In 10 years all school graduates should be able to speak Kazakh - President
ASTANA. April 18. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ In ten years all school graduates should be able to speak the Kazakh language. President Nursultan Nazarbayev said it at the session of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan on Monday.
"One of the priority directions is still the support for ethnic groups in studying the state language. We set a goal to increase the number of the Kazakhstanis, who have learned the state language to 80% till 2017, and even more till 2020. In 10 years, we want that 100% of the school graduates can speak the Kazakh language," the President stressed.
"Knowledge of the Kazakh language is not just a slogan, it means the knowledge of the history of our country, history of Kazakh people from ancient times until today, their cultural traditions. This will lead to even greater rapprochement between all Kazakhstanis, and will build confidence with each passing day. This is the goal of the Assembly," Nazarbayev resumed.
