Important to consolidate efforts on search for uniting factors for countries of Euro Atlantic and Eurasian zones: K.Tokayev
ASTANA. July 13. KAZINFORM "In the current conditions the system of security and cooperation can not be considered as only European", Chairman of the Kazakh Senate, Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has said at the inter-parliamentary conference Monday, devoted to the issues of European security , Kazinform refers to the Senate's press service.
"Europe and Asia are single geographical and political spaces, connected by many historic, economic and cultural contacts. In this regard, it is very important for all interested states to consolidate efforts on search for uniting factors for countries of the Euro Atlantic and Eurasian zones", K.Tokayev noted.
"We, Parliamentarians of Kazakhstan, share the opinion that the future architecture of the European security should be based on current mechanisms, institutions and legal documents. We can't deny everything that was worked earlier and we should not be satisfied with what has already been achieved, but move forward", the Speaker said.
According to him, the so called "Corfu Process", begun in June last year at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE member states, will promote achievement of the unity in regard to the future European security.
