ASTANA. May 3. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Implementation of resource-saving technologies and green policy tools remain the major components of Kazakhstan's industrial policy for the nearest decade. Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has said it at the opening ceremony of the 4th Astana Economic Forum today.
As the President noted, Kazakhstan would accelerate technological modernization of energy and energy saving sectors in order to contribute to solution of global warming problem.
The Head of State reminded that in 2007 at the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly he initiated an idea of development of a global energy-ecology strategy. "I suggested discussing it at Rio+20, the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, to be held in Brazil in 2012. I hope it will be discussed and backed within today's forum too", N. Nazarbayev resumed.
