IBRD will allocate Kazakhstan $138.9 million for two projects
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide a loan for Kazakhstani projects "Improvement of irrigation and drainage systems, phase -2" and "Institutional strengthening of the justice sector".
A corresponding agreement was signed in Astana by Deputy Prime Minister - Finance Minister Bakhyt Sultanov and Permanent Representative of the World Bank in Kazakhstan Sebnem Akkaya. According to the document, IBRD allocates Kazakhstan USD 102.9 million to finance a project to improve irrigation and drainage systems, as well as USD 36 million to finance the project on strengthening the justice sector. "The projects will improve the socio-economic and environmental conditions of the rural population in transboundary river basins and in the densely populated southern and south - eastern regions of the country and to further modernize the legal system of Kazakhstan aimed at strengthening the institutional framework and support ongoing legal reforms", said B. Sultanov.
