IAEA experts to visit Kazakhstan

ASTANA. January 13. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Kazakhstan. Kazakh Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Asset Magauov has announced at the plenary session of the Kazakh Parliament Majilis on Wednesday, January 13.

"The IAEA expert delegation is expected to visit Kazakhstan in January-February. It is an annual visit aimed at overview of our declared nuclear facilities", the Vice Minister said. According to him, the country has research reactors, space at the former Semipalatinsk test site, and the experts should investigate whether there is some kind of undeclared activities.

He emphasized that the IAEA had no claims against Kazakhstan during 10 years.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an international nongovernmental organization for international cooperation development in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.
